Tree Farm Cal and Briggs {LinnyJo Photography} Weatherford Tx

Who doesn’t love to see a little boy whose eyes light up around his big brother? Oh man, Briggs just adores Cal and vice versa. They had fun walking and exploring around all the Christmas trees at the farm in Weatherford. The sun was still high in the sky but I was still able to capture some amazing rays.online_LJP0007 online_LJP0009 online_LJP0013 online_LJP0021 online_LJP0024 online_LJP0029 online_LJP0033 online_LJP9956 online_LJP9957 online_LJP9963 online_LJP9978 online_LJP9997

Brabson Family Photo {LinnyJo Photography} Weatherford TX Family Photographer

I usually don’t accept family photo sessions (not one of my favorite things) but when this family wanted some pictures I didn’t hesitate. I’ve known them for forever, watched all the littles grow up into adults. They are such a beautiful family!!

Thank you so much for allowing me to capture this moment in time for your sweet family!!

Weatherford Children’s Photographer | Kase

Oh boy do I need to do some catching up on the blog!!! Well, here’s a start…

I was enjoying lunch at Yesterday’s sandwich shop in town on Valentine’s Day with my guy. I love this place!! It’s dangerously close to the studio (about 30 steps!) and so yummy!!

Anyhow, while we were eating I noticed at the next table a couple of young moms with their babies and I cringed that I left my wallet with cards in the studio. So I walked down real quick to grab a handful and went back to sit and try to muster up the courage to talk to these strangers…not just talk but promote myself. My guy was no help, bless his heart, he’s so shy. He goes, “I wouldn’t do it.” Thanks for the help honey!!

As they’re getting ready to leave I’m losing my chance to spread the word of my just opened photography studio, so I walk over and begin to introduce myself as a photographer and hand them my cards. One of them starts laughing and says, “Were you listening to our conversation?” Oh, bleep! is pretty much what crossed my mind. What did I do?!

They said they were just talking about getting the kids’ photos taken and then I come up and introduce myself. Purely a divine coincidence. I did NOT eavesdrop on potential clients!! haha (not saying I wouldn’t, but I simply didn’t this time)

Lindsey emailed me and came in the studio to set up Mr. Kase’s photo session for his first birthday which had just passed the week before. After all was said and done I am SOOOO happy I went over and talked to them. Kase is absolutely precious and hopefully a new life long client!!1 copy copy

Daley & Deacon | 6.18.12

The day before I left for my 6 week trip to WA I was fortunate enough to have a client want me to take photos of her children. So amidst packing I loaded up and headed over to her house. I welcomed the break from packing!! Trying to fit everything needed for 6 weeks in one large suitcase and one carry on is not fun! BTW it didn’t all fit when I was ready to head back home but that’s an entirely different story! haha (There’s two pair of shoes who got left behind that are having to travel back solo)

This little girl is a spitfire!! She kept me on my toes and laughing the entire shoot. Except for shots like this where she left me catching my breath.

This little man was the serious of the two haha. He’s already trying out GQ faces!!

I love each of these equally, couldn’t pick one over the other!

She had a BLAST with these shots!! We had to do it twice haha!!

I would LOVE to take credit for this but I cannot….this was all momma’s idea!! I love it!

Hope everyone is having a pleasant Summer. It’s soooo hot here in Texas, looking forward to the cooler temps!!

Newborn Session {Harper}

Meet Harper! She weighed in at 9lbs 13oz and was 21.5″ long with a head full of thick dark hair. 10 days new.

The sun set and it was amazing light! Headband made by yours truly. Basket found at Ross or TJ Maxx (can’t remember) Purple wrap, well that was just fabric I bought at Joann’s. Look at all that hair!!!

The cute little bed was found at a garage sale for $2, headband made by yours truly, and the fabric is from Joann’s. The diaper cover is my favorite! I crocheted the cover and then sewed on ruffles I hand made. It was too little for her so I just tucked it around her. The headband is a Yo-Yo with a vintage button glued to the center.

We of course had to get the older siblings in some pics, too!!

And last but not least…

Please note that this is a composite shot. Do not EVER attempt this shot without an assistant (mom was my helper) to support baby’s head at all times. Newborn safety is crucial!! No shot is worth harming a baby.

Gift Giving {Mini Accordion Book}

Besides displaying your photos in your home you also may come across the need to gift photos. Perhaps you never even thought about it because you automatically think of the gift as a nice matted and framed 11×14 and that seems daunting. But what if it can be so much simpler? What if it doesn’t have to be this big purchase?

I want to introduce you to the mini accordion book. Not a bulky album with the photo corners. A neat composed book where photos can live forever that can be used and gifted with ease.

The Quick Simple Gift: Mini Accordion Book

I’ll hit you with the price first. That way you don’t think I’m going to surprise you with a big ticket at the end.

18 for a solid cover or $24 for a custom cover. Boom! A custom book for less than $25 dollars. I think that fits even the strictest of Chinese Christmas rules haha

Size.

Small enough to for grandma to carry in her purse for a brag book. That’s really all you need to know, right?! It has a soft magnet closure so its not flapping open and getting lipstick on the pages during transit. Not that I think she’ll have it in her purse half the time, but it’s nice to know the pages will be protected on the rare chance it is.

Real Estate.

10 pages for photos/text. That’s not including if you choose the custom front. That’s a lot of bang for your buck and if you have a large family everyone can have their own personal space and then some.

Presentation.

People are going to be impressed when you pull out the sleek hard covered book filled with your adorable family. The linen or pearl paper will probably send them over the edge. Jealously might even peek its little head out and you might have to tell them where you got it! Fine by me!! 🙂

And if you really want to knock the socks off the recipient and make them feel like you really went all out, you can purchase a frosted slip cover to go over the book.

I hope this has helped you think outside the box a little and also made your gift giving a little easier. The uses for this product are endless. Senior portrait books, birthday session book, brag book, mother’s day gift, etc…the list could go on and on. The recipient list is equally as long – mom, grandma, friend, aunt, stocking stuffer, or my favorite…yourself!!

Photos for Your Home

I love taking pictures! Aren’t you glad since that is what I’ve decided to do with my life!? Even when I’m not taking photos for clients I am snapping away, whether I’m on vacation, driving down my country roads, or just walking around outside. This has left me with some quite spectacular images in a file folder on my hard drive. I just think it’d be rude of me to leave those there and not share them with you. I’ve been wanting to sell my prints for a long time now but never found an easy online way to do so. Etsy doesn’t provide an easy way for me to offer one print with different sizes and paper types. I’d have to create a separate listing for each one….no thank you! Ebay, no offense to anyone using it, makes me feel cheap. I don’t want anyone bidding on my stuff. I want you to see a price and that’s the price. Also, now I have a way to give you high quality products that can be shipped directly to you.

So within my wonderful circle of Facebook businesses I follow daily I’d kept hearing of this other thing called Big Cartel that a lot of prop makers use to sell their products. They said it was super easy and the cost of having one was really reasonable. So this past week I looked into it and was surprised to see how professional their “stores” appear.

They even offer a small free plan for you to try before upgrading. Free you say?! I’m game!

It allows you to sell up to 5 items, so I dove into my prints folder and picked my top 5. Not only are they photos that I love, but ones that I can imagine someone being able to add to their home decor.

With all that said please click the image to be taken to my storefront on Big Cartel. Browse around and if you have any feedback there is a contact form on there, please use it! Oh and share with your family & friends….Twitter, Facebook, and whatever else to help spread the word of my budding store!!

More will be added within the month. This is just a start to see how I like the site. If you should so decide that one of these photos would look great in your home please know, too, that shipping is free!

Siblings {T&L}

Do you remember the sweet twins I photographed last month? (Click here if you need a little help remembering) Well here are their older brother and sister. This was actually my first experience with these two and boy did we have fun. Little Miss Lexi is quite the model. And Tatum?? You’d be so surprised about how well the boys do in front of the camera. I know I’ve been! They’re usually the ones saying, “Hey lets do this!” or “Take my picture here!” haha! Totally  not what I would expect, but hey I love it!!

Ok so I know that these won’t be blown up for the hallway but I just love the way he’s teasing his sweet sister while she’s trying to give me her all for the camera!! These can be used when they’re older and she can say “See what you used to do to me!!!” ha ha

Isn’t she divine?! Oh and that head piece is awesome, too, right?! Okay I’m patting myself on the back because I made it 🙂 It does take you straight to her eyes though, and they are stunning.

He had a lot of energy and I was sooo happy to get some really good shots of him. Why can’t I have energy like that anymore? Oh yea, I’m old and I have to drink a pot of coffee just to wake up!

No way! We’re not hugging! Uh uh, nope!
I heard all those remarks and thought to myself, how can I do this. So I did what always works to get kids to do what you want….I tricked them into a challenge!! hehe I said, “Your mom told me you wouldn’t hug. She thinks you won’t do it. Let’s prove her wrong! On three 1…2….3!!!” Then when I told Lexi to move in a smidgen closer Tatum cracked up laughing and pulled away. That’s a brother for ya!

Told ya, my little model. She totally worked it!! Oh and that other head piece on the right…..yep you guessed it, I made that one, too!!

He wouldn’t admit it, but he secretly had a good time! I mean, can’t you tell by that smile?!

The sun light was perfect, the kids and I had fun. We laughed, we raced (Tatum won!), and ended up with some awesome photos. What more can you ask for?!

For info on booking with me please click the Contact tab at the top or leave me a comment below. I would loooove to work with you!

Until next time, God Bless!!

Family Christmas {Farmer}

Not quite sure how long I’ve known this family…years & years. I went to school with all three boys, the youngest (Toby)was in my younger brother’s class. My best friend had the biggest crush on the oldest…ha ha sorry Bryce, but I think that cat was let out of the bag a long time ago!! Now Toby lives with his young bride and their adorable two little boys in Arizona. Momma Farmer was so excited to have all her boys and their families here in TX for Christmas she asked me to come over the day after for family photos. Here’s a little sneak…

It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were roaming the high school halls….time flies!!
