This couple just got married!!! Yay!! They had an intimate ceremony at the county JP and then met with me later that evening for a sunset shoot to celebrate. I had so much fun shooting on his family’s land. It’s always nice to have new surroundings!
I usually don’t accept family photo sessions (not one of my favorite things) but when this family wanted some pictures I didn’t hesitate. I’ve known them for forever, watched all the littles grow up into adults. They are such a beautiful family!!
Thank you so much for allowing me to capture this moment in time for your sweet family!!
Right before Christmas I had the pleasure of meeting little Alexander. He showed up true to form in his complete cowboy get up. Here’s a little bit about this amazing little man:
He turned 3 in January 2012 and got sick on January 26, 2012 with seemed to be a sinus infection. On February 6, 2012, that he has T-Cell (T) Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) standard risk. He began the fight for his very young life. Alexander failed to go into remission with the first rounds of chemo and was moved to High Risk category. Alexander would need a stem cell transplant to give him the best possible chance of living a long life. On June 26, 2012 Alexander got the much-needed stem cells! He is currently at home in recovery and doing great!
Alexander is an awesome little guy: at 4 years old, he loves to play from the second he gets up until the very last moment before he goes to sleep. Whether he is playing in a group with friends or by himself, he seems to truly enjoy every single day. He loves to read, play guitar, sing, play with hot wheels, go to movies, but most of all – he loves to watch and play bucking bulls and rodeo.
About a year ago, he saw a girl in the yard next door and drove past her in his electric jeep and introduced himself as Cowboy Alex of the PBR. That may come from the fact that he loves bull riding and watches a lot of Professional Bull Rider’s Association (PBR). He is also somewhat of a flirt!
Alexander was my very first Gold Session and I’ve had one more since. Please visit The Gold Hope Project on Facebook to keep up with all these amazing fighter stories. Hopefully by summer or fall we will have our non-profit status and that’s when the really FUN stuff will start. We need more awareness and funding for childhood cancers.
Did you know that in 2011 the NCI budget was $5.196 billion. BREAST cancer received $625,059,909. LUNG cancer received $296,814,144. PROSTATE cancer received $288,326,756 and research for ALL types pediatric cancers was only $195,529,112.
That’s not going to cut it people!! For more facts visit this page.
I’m so humbled to be part of this organization. I can’t wait to see what’s in our future. If you are a photographer who’d like to participate, we are opening applications back up beginning Feb. 15 until March 1st. Click here to apply.
I can finally say in 7 days I’ll be on my way to see my sister!!! One week baby!! I’ve been looking forward to this for months now and pretty soon I’ll be leaving the Texas heat for my water front getaway….sorry Texas peeps!
Funny enough I just received a call last week from the wonderful family that I met and took photos for last year. We’re gearing up to update the family photo…can’t wait!!
I am offering special, WA only, photo packages just for my trip. Here are the details:
(3) 8x10s (3) 5x7s and a bonus gift
(1) 11×14 (4) 8x10s (4) 5x7s and a bonus gift
If you are interested in hiring me please email at email@example.com with a potential date that you would like to reserve. Typically I ask for a deposit but since the prices are so low I’m asking for the entire session be paid for in advance to reserve your date. I want to make absolute sure that I’m not wasting a vacation day with my family for a client who may or may not show up. I know you’ll show up, but it will put my mind at ease if we play by the rules 🙂
I really hope to meet more people on my extended visit. I really love it up there. Oh my geez….before I go on and forget one of the most important sessions I hope to do up there….SENIOR 2013!!! I have a wonderful senior package and know that most schools require seniors to have their sessions completed early (new to me, please correct me if I’m wrong). Please email me for further info on Senior 2013 photo sessions. Photographing seniors is so different and fun than anything else I photograph!! I’ll be there for 5 weeks so I can definitely fit you in! So go shopping, get your props ready and let’s have some fun!!
Please note that if you are in Canada I can travel to you or vise versa. So all you near Blaine, WA like White Rock, Langley, Surrey, Delta….you’re within decent driving distance. However, I only take US dollars hehe! 🙂
Washington…and Canada….I’ll be seeing you real soon! 🙂
Not quite sure how long I’ve known this family…years & years. I went to school with all three boys, the youngest (Toby)was in my younger brother’s class. My best friend had the biggest crush on the oldest…ha ha sorry Bryce, but I think that cat was let out of the bag a long time ago!! Now Toby lives with his young bride and their adorable two little boys in Arizona. Momma Farmer was so excited to have all her boys and their families here in TX for Christmas she asked me to come over the day after for family photos. Here’s a little sneak…
It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were roaming the high school halls….time flies!!
I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year’s Eve. I pigged out on not-so-healthy foods with some pretty fabulous peeps. When I wasn’t doing that I was making everyone laugh at my outrageous answers to Catchphrase. Oh my, that game is so fun with the right people!! We stopped long enough to catch the broadcast of the countdown at about 1 minute and rang in the New Year. Then I got to wake up this morning to watch Tom and Jerry with the cutest little 4 year old on the planet. I was also privileged enough to watch him play Ben 10 on his DS. Boy am I lucky!! haha
Since the start of a new year is all about reflection I want to show a photo (or two) from sessions from each month of 2011. Hopefully we’ll see some progression in my work. So here goes….
February – None professionally taken
So there’s my year in photos. I can’t wait to have another great year. It feels really good to start 2012 knowing I have the most amazing job I could ever want. Not only that but amazing friends and family that are so supportive and give me so much motivation to succeed. I thank the Lord daily (sometimes more!) for all my blessings, no matter how small.
Looking forward I want to travel, even if it’s only to WA state again, and take more photos for me….how I see the world. I also hope to establish a studio this year. That’s a big time goal. I want that so bad!! A place to showcase all my work and run my business. It’s so exciting to think about!! It will happen, I just have to be patient and work my way towards it.
Oh and get ready in April to start seeing tons of photos of a certain little baby girl. My best friend (since we were 4) is having her first baby!! That child will have soooo many photo sessions she’ll think she’s a movie star!! I’ll have my own little model to practice on.
Here’s my other little model (the cutest 4 year old I talked about earlier) from yesterday.
From the bottom of my heart I want to say a big THANK YOU to all my clients. You are helping me live my dream. I love getting know each and every one of you and look forward to many more sessions. Keep spreading the word! ha ha Once again Happy New Year and God Bless!!
What to say first about this little family?? Uh, they’re beautiful!!
Second?? Super nice!!
I went to school with both Haley and Ryan.
Although they’re a tad younger than I am.
Ryan used to play in a rock band with my younger brother Adam.
We were all freezing during this shoot.
They make me look good.
I was allowed the pleasure of photographing their first baby’s newborn photos.
You can see those here.
But first take a look below.
Stay tuned next week because this weekend I’m taking photos of Ryan’s whole family. Should be super fun!!!
Thank you Haley, Ryan, and baby Ryder for the awesome session!!
The cooler temps have finally arrived in N. Texas but that hasn’t slowed any of us down taking photos. This past Saturday morning was in the upper 30s, thankfully no winds, and we braved the chill to get some adorable photos. This was my first time meeting the Barrett family although we know several of the same peeps. That’s the commonality in a teeny tiny town. They are the cutest little family and I truly had a wonderful time snapping away in between keeping my fingers warm!
Love the mother/daughter & father/son shots. So sweet!!
Is she not the cutest little thing??! I mean just look at her mommy. Sorry dad but we know where the looks came from! haha (BTW do you own a gun, ya might want to get one soon)
And last but by far my most favorite. I felt like I was doing an engagement session all of a sudden! They are too cute!!! Loved it!
Thank you Barrett family for allowing me the pleasure of photographing your precious family. I enjoyed it to the max!!
Last week was such a fun week for photos and probably the busiest week I’ve had! No complaints here, especially when I see pics like the ones below. I think they turned out awesome!! What do you think? There’s a … Continue reading
I held a contest not too long ago for a free photo session and this happy family won! They wanted a fall session and we were able to fit it in right before Thanksgiving. Jacob happens to be my cousin and he married my friend Jody. Their little boy Kenson just turned 2 and he has the funniest little personality. He is most famous for his nose wrinkle!! They also brought along their puppy Jax, a beautiful chocolate lab, for the shoot.
This turned out to be a little more special of a shoot than we thought, because, you see, their dear Jax got sick over the weekend and we received the terrible news that he did not make it through the night last night. They are heartbroken and I’m so very happy we were able to capture them as a family before this tragedy occurred.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Losing a pet is like losing a part of your family.
